6月30日 I think it will be a July baby That is what my doctors said last Friday. Then she followed it up with no one can really predict these things. So we've been slowly getting ready. We cleaned out a bunch of stuff, had a yard sale, and took the leftovers to Goodwill. We've arranged what furniture we have in the baby's room and repurposed some other items elsewhere. We've been doing laundry. We washed the first load of teeny tiny baby clothes a few days ago. They're so little. John and I were lamenting, though, that since we washed the clothes in Tide Free, the clothes just smelled wet and not like clean laundry when we moved them from the washer to the dryer. Oh, how programmed we are by smells. My office hosted a shower for me last week, and we got so many more cool presents. Everyone's been so generous and excited about baby, it's really nice. This week is my last week at the office. It feels a little strange being so close to the end. I'll miss working there, but I am looking forward to just being a mom who lights shows. Time to walk the doggys, who have spent much of the morning tearing their toys apart. Silly dissecting dogs. Love, Trina 6月15日 You're kinda big right nowWith the myriad gifts and sundries given to us for the baby is a baby sling. I'm super stoked about the baby sling, and while I have seen other moms use them, I'm a little confused about how the baby goes in there without getting squished. I demonstrated my concern to John by putting on the sling, holding it open and saying "I just don't see how the baby is going to fit in there." John's response? "You're kinda big right now. You should wait until after the baby is born to gauge if it fits."
So, just how big am I? Take a look for yourself:

We've been slowly putting the house back together since the work was completed Friday. We bought parts for a closet system, which we put together yesterday and started putting John's clothes back in the closet. The closet system is really nice. So nice, actually, that's we're sad that we'll have to wait to do the same thing in the other closets. We've also been washing and ironing curtains and putting them back up after windexing and dusting the windows, which is a long overdue spring cleaning thing. I'd also like to mop the floors in the downstairs to get up the last of the construction dust, which will perhaps be a project for this evening, though John doesn't know it yet.
This Thursday we take Infant Safety and CPR. And that's about all that's going on.
Love,
Trina 6月8日 Remodel Ooh! Look at pictures of the remodel here. ETA of it being finished is Wednesday. Can't wait. Love, Trina 6月5日 Little bit whiny My back hurts. It hurts when I bend over. It hurts when I walk. It sometimes hurts even when I lay down. This morning I was doing my stretches and got stuck on the ground for a few minutes because I couldn't figure out how to get up without hurting myself. Argh. I'm so happy about the remodeling and how it's coming along, but I very much miss having an upstairs toilet. It's a drag trudging downstairs multiple times in the middle of the night. I can't wait for the upstairs to be useable again. Teagan and Ronan have been on a barking fanatics the last couple of days. Perhaps they're not actually barking more often than normal, but it has certainly been getting on my nerves lately. I'd like to think I'd be more tolerant of it if they were actually barking at something, but best I can tell, they've been barking at breeze. Ooh! In less whiny news, I have picture of the curtain fabric my aunt and I picked out for the baby's room. Adorable, no? (on its side for some reason....) The incredibly, unseasonably hot weather broke yesterday. Hooray! That still didn't stop us from going (again!) to Molly Moon's after car seat class. Oh, yeah, last night we went to the car seat safety and installation class. We learned about different types of car seats, the different ways to install them in the car, the best installation choice for the cars we own. We also have a new dilemma: what is the best way to prevent the dogs from becoming baby-injuring projectiles in case of an accident? The car seat class instructor gave a thumbs down to getting a cargo gate as she had not seen any that have been crash-tested. Oddly I've been having a really difficult time finding credible information about this subject on the internet, but, after quite a bit of searching last night, I guess I am leaning toward getting a harness that can tether the dogs to the latches in the cargo area. I just hope that whatever we pick will allow them enough leeway to stand up and sniff the air, which is what they love to do in the car. Time for a snack and then to work. Love, Trina |
